Thailand

World map of Thailand

Thailand is located inside the 10/40 window, where 2/3 of the world’s population lives and 97% of the world’s unreached and unevangelized people groups live. The average Baptist church in America gives less than $0.05 out of every $1 given toward missions to reach the 2/3 of the world’s population living inside the 10/40 window.

Out of the 195 different countries in the world Thailand is the 19th largest country in the world with over 65 million souls. This is equal to adding FL, AL, GA, SC, NC VA, WV, KY, and TN together.

Out of the top 100 unreached people groups in the world, Thailand has the 25th, 27th, 86th, and 99th largest unreached people groups in the world. This equals over 47 million unreached souls.

The major religious groups in Thailand are 94% Buddhists, 4.6% Muslim, 0.46% Catholic, and 0.29% Christian (This still includes Jehovah Witness and Mormons.) This equals around 200,000 Christians in a country with over 65 million souls.

Thailand was founded as a country in 1238 but it was 741 years later that the first Independent Baptist Missionary arrived in 1979. Today there are 33 known Independent Baptist Churches in the whole country.

We are currently researching the 15th largest cities in Thailand to find out if any of them have an Independent Baptist Church. Then after language school we want to go to one of these cities and start writing history by starting the first Independent Baptist Church these cities have ever had.

We are praying not only for the lost to be saved but for God to call forth Thai men that we can train and turn over the churches that we start or send them throughout Thailand and the world to start churches.

By the grace of God we will also teach the Thai people their obligation to reach the world with the Gospel. We know this can be done through them having a mission program and sending out Thai families around the world.
